Fear of surgery
Navelgazing Midwife has done a few posts about awareness while under anesthesia, and she posted a link to this story. OMG! This is one of my biggest fears. I just have this feeling deep down, that if I ever need a cesarean, I would be one of those people who feels every cut. For nearly every procedure I've had with anesthesia in the past, it hasn't worked completely. I can't tell you how many times I've felt dental work when I should have. And after both of my births, I've required a few stitches down under...and I've felt EVERY ONE. Those experiences have left me with goose bumps every time I think about it. I just can't even imagine being paralyzed but awake through a cesarean. I might just go insane.
