I've decided to post all my family-friendly birth stories here on my blog. They are "family-friendly" because they are written for the parents. I always write my version of the birth story (with details that perhaps the laboring mom has missed or forgotten) and give it to the parents at a postpartum meeting. So you won't find me being picky or criticizing decisions here. That isn't my job as a doula. I try to preserve the birth memory and make it a positive experience (no matter what happened) the parents will want to relive over and over again.
Obviously, the two birth stories that use names are my own birth stories, written from my memory in the days following those births. The stories that don't use names are those written for my clients. If you happen to know who I'm writing about and you decide to leave a comment about the story, please don't use real names.
