What do you think? Does this look like an exquisite Thai dining establishment? It is called "The Woodsman" if you can't read that sign, and apparently they have fried chicken on Wednesday nights. It is in the thriving metropolis of Philomath (population ~4,000). It looks like a bar. It has a bar, and they serve Coors Light (among other things). It is decorated in chainsaws and cross saws and pictures of large trees that were cut down. And it is the best darn Thai food I've had since being in Thailand. We ventured there last night for a belated birthday dinner sans kids (thank you in-laws!) after getting a tip from a friend that we might find good Thai food there. Wow. What a great jewel to find right under our noses.

Best Thai food ever...in America

Happy belated birthday! I feel like a shit for not saying so when you called me last week. You are amazing. I have been catching up on your blog (love the Alder birth story!). Can't believe it about that dive in Philomath. When we get back we should all go there for a little welcome home fiesta.
